About

Alexandra became a Beekeeper in 2015 stemming from a simple dare. A friend's husband didn’t think she had the guts to approach hives and harvest her own honey, so a challenge was drawn and the rest is history!

Alex’s initial work started with a Beekeeping Mentor, learning the ropes of hive health and maintenance. Then she graduated to teaching beekeeping to at-risk youth and then to small scale food manufacturing and micro farming in Fairfield, CT. Alex learned alot about food production, product development and sales and marketing within the food industry. Having moved back home to Texas in 2020 to help with family, she opened The Pretty Farmer with new recipes and products and started selling in farmers markets and special holiday events.

Every year in early Spring, The Pretty Farmer begins the arduous process of planting seedlings to grow and harvest fresh herbs for production and dehydration to use in some of her food products.

The Pretty Farmer is stocked in gourmet boutique retail stores and restaurants throughout Austin, San Antonio and the Hill Country area. All products are available through her website at www.theprettyfarmer.com and through wholesale channels such as Faire.com.
